Elevate is happy to offer FREE character read-alouds for Grades 3 and below to support your reading instruction. Our very own, Dean R. Kinney, has been supporting children's literacy for over a decade. Children all over East Texas have enjoyed his character readings of The Cat in the Hat, Johnny Appleseed, The Polar Express, Twas the Night Before Christmas, The Grinch, The Jalapeno Man, and many others.

Reading aloud gives students an opportunity to hear good readers model fluency and expression in reading.
Comprehension
Discussions generated by reading aloud can be used to encourage listeners to construct meanings, connect ideas and experiences across texts, use their prior knowledge, and question unfamiliar words from the text.
Listening Skills
Active listening fosters contemplation and reflection, without which students may collect information, yet fail to gain knowledge.
